Mr.Joseph Gathura Kiarii

Joseph Kiarii – Alternate Director, Cabinet Secretary The National Treasury

Mr. Joseph Gathura Kiarii was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of Kenya Limited on 2nd November, 2021, as the Alternate to the Cabinet Secretary, the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) from the University of Nairobi. Mr. Kiarii has served in the public service in various Government institutions for a period of over 30 years, with over 25 years at the National Treasury. He is currently a Deputy Director Investments, having risen through the ranks in the Directorate of Public Investments and Portfolio Management of the National Treasury.

Mr. Kiarii has also served as an Alternate Director representing the Cabinet Secretary National Treasury in many other State Corporations Boards, including Kenya Water Institute, Kenya Railways Corporation, Dedan Kimathi University, Laikipia University, among others. He currently serves as an Alternate Director representing the National Treasury at Taita Taveta University Council and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority.

He is a member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA). Mr. Kiarii serves as the Chairperson of the Board Strategy, Business Development & ICT Committee and is a Member of the Board Finance & Risk Management Committee.
